What is held
| Your account | Email address, username, password (hashed with argon2 — never stored as you typed it), the picture if you upload one, and when you joined. |
| What you do here | Games you publish, posts, comments, reviews, scores, tournaments, donations and purchases, and how long you played what. |
| Private messages | Kept until you or the other person deletes their account. Nobody else reads them — not a moderator, not an administrator. The only way one reaches us is if somebody in the conversation reports it, and then only that message. |
| Twitch | Only if you link it: your Twitch id and channel name, so the site can prove the channel is yours and show when you are live. Unlink it and that goes. |
| Addresses and logs | Your IP address is used to slow down password guessing and to keep one person from flooding the site. It appears in server logs, which are kept short-term for finding faults. |
Cookies
One cookie for staying signed in. It holds no information about you — only a random token that points at a session on the server. It cannot be read by JavaScript and it is not sent to the address that serves games.
A second one appears only if you are a creator or a moderator opening a game that is not published yet: it lasts half an hour, is scoped to that one build, and exists so the preview link cannot be passed around. Nobody else ever receives it.
There is no analytics, no tracking, and nothing from an advertising network. That is why this site has no cookie banner: there is nothing to ask about.
Who sees what
Your username, picture, published games, reviews and scores are public — that is what a profile is. Your email address is not, and never appears to another visitor. Searching for people works by name only, so an address cannot be used to find out whether somebody has an account.
A private account closes the profile page to anybody who is not an approved follower. Blocking somebody stops the two of you meeting anywhere on the site.
Nothing is sold, and nothing is shared with anybody except the services the site needs to work: the mail provider that delivers confirmation messages, and Twitch, if you chose to link it.
What you can do
- Take a copy. Everything held about you, as one file.
- Correct it. Your profile changes what is wrong.
- Delete the account. From your profile, at any time.
- Ask us anything about it through the contact page.
How long it is kept
While the account exists. Deleting it removes your follows, your follow requests, your blocks, your notifications and any device you linked; takes your games out of the catalogue; and replaces your name everywhere it was shown.
Two things deliberately stay. What other people wrote about your games is theirs, and it was public when they wrote it. And messages you sent stay in the conversation you sent them to, shown as coming from a deleted account.
That second one is worth being plain about, because it is the one that surprises people. It works the same way here as on every other service: the person you wrote to keeps their own record of what was said to them. A site where leaving erases that is a site where leaving is how somebody destroys the evidence of what they did.
